What the WrestleMania 34 card could look like.

We are moving to wrestlingnewspro.com

WrestleMania week always brings a tremendous amount excitement to the WWE universe. It’s that time of year in pro wrestling when someone can get up in the moment that is WrestleMania. The nostalgia is ever apparent with the rich history of the showcase of immortals as well as the hall of fame ceremony. With all that rich history though, WrestleMania is still a time to think towards the future. What may happen on the next night on Raw and how will this years big event pave the way to next year’s Mania in New Orleans. Just for the fun of it, here is my prediction as to what a WrestleMania 34 card may look like. Some of these matches are based on expectation and some are just flat out hope but lets have some fun.

**These matches are in no particular order as far as Main Event**

1st Prediction: Pitbull or Flo Rida will perform a catchy tune.
2nd Prediction: They’ll likely continue to disrespect Sami Zayn and put him on the kickoff show.

Seriously though, here is the card I conjured up…

Finn Balor vs. AJ Styles

This will be the first WrestleMania in a long time without the Undertaker, at least that’s my prediction. A lot of the talk lately has centered around McMahon wanting to make Roman Reigns the top guy. That may be true but as far as entrances that take our breath away, that will go to the Demon King. This is a bit of a dream matchup for a lot of us but I think a matchup between these two would be close to legendary. WWE is leaving money on the table by not capitalizing on the bullet club history that these two bring. Imagine the promo that you could build around this. This match is one of those matches that wouldn't even need a major title attached to it to be considered main event caliber.

WWE Championship
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns

I’m not going to be coy about it, I’m a Roman Reigns fan. That aside though I still think I’d dread if this match was on the card cause it would mean having to stomach weeks and weeks of the Reigns Resistance. Resistance, thats kind of clever. You heard that here first folks! We have heard the rumblings over the last couple of weeks that this is a match that WWE officials already have in mind. It makes sense though as it could potentially be a matchup between the only two men on the planet to have beaten the Undertaker at WrestleMania. Who is the rightful ruler of the yard at the showcase of the immortals. That has Vince McMahon written all over it. The only interesting thing is the rumblings that they want to move Reigns to Smackdown. That could get tricky cause that would mean that Brock would be off of Raw. Regardless of which brand, McMahon always figures out a way. I also know as a side note that folks are itching for a Brock and Rock match but I don’t think the Rock’s movie career will allow him to get back in the ring. Too much money could be left on the table for him if god forbid he gets injured.

Smackdown Tag Team Championship TLC Match
The New Day (c) vs. The Hardy Boyz vs. American Alpha

A handful of names have circled the rumor mill in regards to potential moves from one show to the other. The New Day has been rumored to head to Smackdown and it makes sense as their tag team division doesn't have much to offer. American Alpha is a legit tag team and are extremely talented but I just think it was too soon to put the titles on them when they did. They need a little more time to get an edge to them. Their characters don't have a lot of substance. Putting them in a match like this helps give them that edge. The Hardy Boyz are rumored to be returning and are practically the forefathers of the TLC match. They help give this matchup off the charts credibility. It’s a long shot but it would be amazing if it actually came together. Truth be told, I have this match penciled in BEFORE the RAW tag title match at this years Mania was turned into a ladder match. I'm still rolling with this idea anyway.

Triple Threat Universal Championship Match
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens

Shinsuke is on the way, that much is clear. By this time next year he will most definitely be on the main roster and I don’t think he’ll be messing around with mid card matches for all that long. Shinsuke much like Balor has an entrance that could really look like something special at WrestleMania. I don't think Kevin Owens is going to ever fade too far from the title picture over the course of this year and I think that prize fighter mentality would be fantastic in a championship program. He was good as champion earlier this year but lacked that killer instinct when he was making people laugh with Jericho. Sad to say but the biggest reach here is just hoping that Rollins doesn't suffer another knee injury. Fingers crossed and here's to hoping that this match comes to fruition.

Triple H vs. Kurt Angle

If you have read my Kurt Angle piece on the GTS report then you would know that I suspect Triple H could be one of Angle’s opponents if he steps into the squared circle. For the sake of this article I’m going to assume the Angle will wrestle Brock Lesnar at Summer Slam and will then deal with Triple H at Mania. It was like I was saying in the Angle piece, if Angle does become the general manager of RAW then it is just a matter of time before things boil over. That is the circle of life for a RAW GM. If Angle becomes GM quickly after Mania then you're allowing for a ton of ground to present a compelling story at Mania and thats where Triple H does some of his finest work.

Retirement Match
Randy Orton vs. John Cena

I’m well aware that this match stipulation isn't likely to happen but the point of this piece is to also have a little bit of fun. A retirement match like this would be on the level of the WrestleMania VII encounter between the Ultimate Warrior and the Macho Man. The video packages profiling the paths of these two superstars and how they've intertwined would be worth watching alone. Let us also not forget that this a soap opera and many of superstars have lost retirement matches and have still comeback. Even if it doesn't have the retirement stipulation, these two are starting to trend into the living legend territory. Wrestling one of them is special enough as is. They're still major draws when booked correctly. Maybe one eliminates the other from the Rumble to get wheels moving but either way, like some of these other matches it really writes itself.

Fatal Four Way Intercontinental Championship
The Miz (c) vs. Tye Dillinger vs. Baron Corbin vs. Andrade Almas

Eventually some of this NXT talent is going to circulate into the main roster but I don't think their impact will be as powerful as a guy like Samoa Joe. They’ll circle around the mid card but will still be fan favorites. Does anyone remember Tye Dillinger calling out the Miz in 2016 during one of the Miz’s IC title runs? Time to cash that check! Dillinger will likely be over with the fans from the get go but a feud with the Miz can only help matters. The Miz will dabble in the main event picture over the summer but I think eventually he will be back down to the IC title picture. Funny to think that the Miz would be the veteran to run the match here. I would love to see Corbin with one of the main titles but I don't think McMahon will be willing to do that on a stage like WrestleMania. This is the perfect match to keep him fresh and he will bring the power in this match. Much like Dillinger, Almas will be up on the main roster sooner rather than later. Smackdown is a good spot for him to put on some quality matches with the main roster and worry less about the soap opera saturated RAW.

No Disqualification
Dean Ambrose vs. Samoa Joe

This is kind of becoming Ambrose’s thing at WrestleMania. At WM31, he busted his head open a bit during the IC title ladder match. At WM 32, he took on Brock Lesnar. At WM 33, he is taking on Baron Corbin which will likely be one of the more hard hitting matches on the card. If WWE officials are looking to continue that trend for Ambrose then they should look no further than Samoa Joe. The former NXT champion wrestles such an aggressive style and this writers personal opinion is that he and Ambrose could put on a wild match. The inclusion of the no DQ stipulation leaves more to the imagination for the wrestling fan and thats all they need to ensure that you'll tune in.

 Triple Threat RAW Women’s Championship
Asuka (c) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte

You didn't actually think I would forget about the Women did you? Just like how Cena spent ages being in the championship picture I think Charlotte is cut from that same cloth. I don't think you'll ever see her at WrestleMania in some 8 women tag match. Sasha and Charlotte, unless they're on different shows will always cross paths. They're both just too damn good to not be around the belt, especially during WrestleMania season. Asuka really needs no introduction to hardcore wrestling fans as we can expect her to be thrust right into the title picture upon her arrival. I fully believe the title will be on her before the road to WrestleMania begins. This match will be magic.

Smackdown Women’s Championship
Bayley (c) vs. Becky Lynch

For the second year in a row it will be Bayley carrying a Women’s championship into WrestleMania. Asuka’s eventual arrival to the main roster will make one of these RAW women expendable. The roster shake up, whenever that is will have Bayley moving to the blue brand. One half of the four horsewomen will do battle in New Orleans as much like Sasha and Charlotte, these two women are too good to be on the same show and not fight for the belt. Becky Lynch won’t be a full fledged heel here but she’ll need to take on that role for the sake of Bayley’s merchandise sales. My hope is eventually we'd get a fatal four way with the four horsewomen but that will be two hard to with a brand split. Having all four of them on the same show may make the women's roster a bit top heavy.

Chris Jericho vs. Braun Strowman

This sort of match will come from Jericho coming between Strowman and the title. From there Strowman will attack Jericho, Jericho will put Strowman on the list and bam, we have a match. It will have a David and Goliath sort of feel as Strowman will look to end Y2J for good. Strowman supporters will be upset that WWE officials will have nothing better to do with him but hey, its better than not being on the card at all.
